Salla Luhtasela — Wesley Walters
@studiokaksikko
We consider ourselves formgivers before designers. Fabrication and prototyping by hand are essential to our process and what we most enjoy. Our studio in Lauttasaari, Helsinki includes a ceramic workshop and full woodworking facilities. Contact us for collaborations or book a time to come and meet us.

Salla
Salla grew up in Tervalampi, a small village in the forest near Helsinki. After working as a pastry chef, she applied her love for all things small and beautiful to the crafting of ceramics while studying at Aalto University. In addition to the pottery wheel, Salla is talented at drawing, plaster work, and all types of fine prototyping. While studying ceramic- and glass design at Aalto University, Salla did her exchange studies at Central St. Martins in London and participated with Wesley in artist residencies in Paris, New York and Kyoto.
The only thing Salla loves more than the throwing wheel is playing with her daughter, Elma.
Wesley
Wesley grew up in Pollock Pines, a small village in the mountains of California. After studying East Asian Languages (Japanese) at UC Berkeley, he worked in translation and interpreting on film sets before shifting focus to the design fields. After completing an MA in Design from Tama Art University in Tokyo he went on to pursue a second MA in Product and Spatial Design at Aalto University in Helsinki. He focuses on design and craft using wood and porcelain.
When he’s not in the studio he can be found riding his bicycle through the fjords of Norway.
